I posted this once before but since it came up on my playlist and I thought what I always think about it, I decided to share it again, yahoo.
After I watched School Days, this song so came into my head. I've never made an AMV, though, so I never got around to actually using the song, but someone else totally should.
Anyway, if you've seen School Days, you will see how Joe = Makoto. Or if you've seen some other stuff like White Album or anything else with cheating scumbags.
Go Kristin. Abuse his dead body. ~ And she's hot here, too. =o Of course I can't technically put her under a yandere since I don't know what she acted like beforehand, but she's pretty crazy there over love, so yahoo. Even though, to be honest, I don't usually think of yanderes as the kind of person that hurts their loves, so maybe she's a Yangire. She's supposed to be one of the next Disney Princesses voices, too. I've loved her for quite some time, I saw her on Broadway a few years ago for my birthday. <3
I love Jerome Pradon, for those that do not know. I love musicals and he is my favorite male performer from musicals, mainly for his version of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar! Lots of people say that he over-acted in JCSS, but if you ask me, the others just weren't as good as him! Judas is miserable, he should be dramatic and his suicide should be whiny!
But omg, I finally got this... I don't know if I should call it a soundtrack because it's a literature-piece, not really under musicals, but the words-lyrics are so awesome! Especially this song. There is another song called 'Knives' where he sings about how all the sharp things in his house are calling out murder and dread to him, ranging from his knives to cleavers to the nail file.
I love his voice! He did this whole thing on his own, he's so insane. This song is crazy. I couldn't find any lyrics to it, though, so I had to kind of do it on my own, which wasn't easy. Some things I just can't figure out and it's annoying. Those would be the lines with the (?) after it. Listen to it! It's crazy and has intense lyrics. It was originally in French, translated into English. I also added it to my playlist at the end.
First. This is one of the most intense scenes in the 2000 Jesus Christ Superstar remake. After Jesus is sent to Herod and then sent back to Pilate, he attempts to flog him to calm the crowd, instead of having to kill him, but as you know, that doesn't work. The mob is insane and crazed and wants him dead. =/
Second! King Herod's song. The Puppet King. Because it's hysterical and scary.
My favorite musical. My favorite singer. My favorite song from it.
In this scene, Kim is in hiding with her son, who is half-American and a bastard and when her cousin comes, demanding her hand in marriage, she tells him why she can't marry him, but he just wants to kill her baby.
Yes, I repost stuff because I meet new people or people say new things and then I have to share my old loves with them! And I send them to here, so yes!
In my club, ON MAL, someone watched the Ewan video and thought it was rather 'gay' and didn't like it, which is fine, people are welcome to their opinions as long as they keep the negative comments to a minimum, but it made me respond with comments about how I hate racism and prejudiced, and then someone else posted something else and that made me think of Avenue Q's song!
So. Here it is, enjoy. It's a great genius song that's so much fun fun! Yes, FUN FUN. Ah, I remember when I first heard this, so long ago, I laughed so much. I was listening to it in the car, picked up my mom from her house on Azalea's birthday a few years ago and this was playing in the car and she was like, O.o. But she loves musicals, so it was okay. =p
Anyway, listen!
Princeton: Say, Kate, can I ask you a question?
Kate Monster: Sure!
Princeton: Well, you know Trekkie Monster upstairs?
Kate Monster: Uh huh.
Princeton: Well, he's Trekkie Monster, and you're Kate Monster.
Kate Monster: Right.
Princeton: You're both Monsters.
Kate Monster: Yeah.
Princeton: Are you two related?
Kate Monster: What?! Princeton, I'm surprised at you! I find that racist!
Princeton: Oh, well, I'm sorry! I was just asking!
Kate Monster: Well, it's a touchy subject. No, not all Monsters are related. What are you trying say, huh? That we all look the same to you? Huh, huh, huh?
Princeton: No, no, no, not at all. I'm sorry, I guess that was a little racist.
Kate Monster: I should say so. You should be much more careful when you're talking about the sensitive subject of race.
Princeton: Well, look who's talking!
Kate Monster: What do you mean?
Princeton: What about that special Monster School you told me about?
Kate Monster: What about it?
Princeton: Could someone like me go there?
Kate Monster: No, we don't want people like you-
Princeton: You see?!
You're a little bit racist.
Kate Monster: Well, you're a little bit too.
Princeton: I guess we're both a little bit racist.
Kate Monster: Admitting it is not an easy thing to do...
Princeton: But I guess it's true.
Kate Monster: Between me and you, I think
Both: Everyone's a little bit racist Sometimes. Doesn't mean we go Around committing hate crimes. Look around and you will find No one's really color blind. Maybe it's a fact We all should face Everyone makes judgments Based on race.
Princeton: Now not big judgments, like who to hire or who to buy a newspaper from -
Kate Monster: No!
Princeton: No, just little judgments like thinking that Mexican busboys should learn to speak goddamn English!
Kate Monster: Right!
Both: Everyone's a little bit racist Today. So, everyone's a little bit racist Okay! Ethinic jokes might be uncouth, But you laugh because They're based on truth. Don't take them as Personal attacks. Everyone enjoys them - So relax!
Princeton: All right, stop me if you've heard this one.
Kate Monster: Okay!
Princeton: There's a plan going down and there's only one paracute. And there's a rabbi, a priest...
Kate Monster: And a black guy!
Gary Coleman: Whatchoo talkin' 'bout Kate?
Kate Monster: Uh...
Gary Coleman: You were telling a black joke!
Princeton: Well, sure, Gary, but lots of people tell black jokes.
Gary Coleman: I don't.
Princeton: Well, of course you don't - you're black! But I bet you tell Polack jokes, right?
Gary Coleman: Well, sure I do. Those stupid Polacks!
Princeton: Now, don't you think that's a little racist?
Gary Coleman: Well, damn, I guess you're right.
Kate Monster: You're a little bit racist.
Gary Coleman: Well, you're a little bit too.
Princeton: We're all a little bit racist.
Gary Coleman: I think that I would Have to agree with you.
Princeton/Kate Monster: We're glad you do.
Gary Coleman: It's sad but true! Everyone's a little bit racist -
All right!
Kate Monster: All right!
Princeton: All right!
Gary Coleman: All right! Bigotry has never been Exclusively white
All: If we all could just admit That we are racist a little bit, Even though we all know That it's wrong, Maybe it would help us Get along.
Princeton: Oh, Christ do I feel good.
Gary Coleman: Now there was a fine upstanding black man!
Princeton: Who?
Gary Coleman: Jesus Christ.
Kate Monster: But, Gary, Jesus was white.
Gary Coleman: No, Jesus was black.
Kate Monster: No, Jesus was white.
Gary Coleman: No, I'm pretty sure that Jesus was black-
Princeton: Guys, guys...Jesus was Jewish!
Brian: Hey guys, what are you laughing about?
Gary Coleman: Racism!
Brian: Cool.
Christmas Eve: BRIAN! Come back here! You take out lecycuraburs!
Princeton: What's that mean?
Brian: Um, recyclables. Hey, don't laugh at her! How many languages do you speak?
Kate Monster: Oh, come off it, Brian! Everyone's a little bit racist.
Brian: I'm not!
Princeton: Oh no?
Brian: Nope!
How many Oriental wives Have you got?
Christmas Eve: What? Brian!
Princeton: Brian, buddy, where you been? The term is Asian-American!
Christmas Eve: I know you are no Intending to be But calling me Oriental - Offensive to me!
Brian: I'm sorry, honey, I love you.
Christmas Eve: And I love you.
Brian: But you're racist, too.
Christmas Eve: Yes, I know. The Jews have all The money And the whites have all The power. And I'm always in taxi-cab With driver who no shower!
Princeton: Me too!
Kate Monster: Me too!
Gary Coleman: I can't even get a taxi!
All: Everyone's a little bit racist It's true. But everyone is just about As racist as you! If we all could just admit That we are racist a little bit, And everyone stopped being So PC Maybe we could live in - Harmony!
Lea Salonga is my favorite musical singer, I love her. For those that do not know, she did the singing voices of Jasmine and Mulan from Disney, as well as being the first Kim in Miss Saigon. I love her, wheeeeeeeee. She has the voice of an angel. La la la. And this is just an amazingly, moving version of this song. It's also for her brother, who is the composer back there and has written this new orchestral version of the song, which is beautiful.
So you can see how amazingly talented and funny she is. In this song, Kristin is a rich woman, and even with her tiny voice she can still sing super opera and be totally awesome. There are other versions of this on YouTube, but this is my favorite - some are from the same show as the If video.
Yes, she is actually singing, "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" She's laughing. She's so crazy, I love this song. It's from Candide.
Someone more serious read my description and I liked theirs more, as they were much more serious about the actual show, whereas I was just ranting about Kristin, but for informational purposes and from my comments -
She is a young woman, forced by the horrors of war to stay alive by accepting the attentions of men, rich men, who buy her the jewels she sings about. She is shamed, yet pleased, hence the delight of the song.
Lyrics help.
Glitter and be gay, That's the part I play; Here I am in Paris, France, Forced to bend my soul To a sordid role, Victimized by bitter, bitter circumstance. Alas for me! Had I remained Beside my lady mother, My virtue had remained unstained Until my maiden hand was gained By some Grand Duke or other.
Ah, 'twas not to be; Harsh necessity Brought me to this gilded cage. Born to higher things, Here I droop my wings, Ah! Singing of a sorrow nothing can assuage.
And yet of course I rather like to revel, Ha ha! I have no strong objection to champagne, Ha ha! My wardrobe is expensive as the devil, Ha ha! Perhaps it is ignoble to complain... Enough, enough Of being basely tearful! I'll show my noble stuff By being bright and cheerful! Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha!
Pearls and ruby rings... Ah, how can worldly things Take the place of honor lost? Can they compensate For my fallen state, Purchased as they were at such an awful cost?
Bracelets...lavalieres Can they dry my tears? Can they blind my eyes to shame? Can the brightest brooch Shield me from reproach? Can the purest diamond purify my name?
And yet of course these trinkets are endearing, Ha ha! I'm oh, so glad my sapphire is a star, Ha ha! I rather like a twenty-carat earring, Ha ha! If I'm not pure, at least my jewels are!
Enough! Enough! I'll take their diamond necklace And show my noble stuff By being gay and reckless! Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha!
Observe how bravely I conceal The dreadful, dreadful shame I feel. Ha ha ha ha!
I love this video and I was talking about Kristin, so sharing time. Woo. When I get around to making my School Days video, this is the song I will be using. =p
